The Sacramento Mineral
Society was organized in 1936 to promote the study of mineralogy
and lapidary arts and crafts as well as other geologic
sciences. To this end we conduct a variety of activities such as
educational presentations in our monthly meetings, field
trips and a club house and lapidary shop run by our members. Our annual

Harvest Of Gems Show attracts vendors from all over the western United
States. We also award geological scholarships each

New Wednesday Shop Hours
The Board of Directors of the Sacramento Mineral Society announced at the July Board Meeting, that the Shop would be Open to current members on Wednesdays 9am-3pm. It would be very nice if you would drop an e-mail to Joy Fergoda, jafergoda@yahoo.com if you hope to use the shop on any given Wednesday.
Preparations For the November Show Begin
Preparations and assignments for the November Scottish Rite Gem & Mineral Show have begun. If you would like an up close and personal look at how a Gem & Mineral show comes together, or even better, would like to volunteer at the show, please contact Doug Leonard at doug.leonard@live.com or dougleonard@juno.com. Doug says "Anne Luree and I have been volunteering to help at the show each year and it is the most exciting "rock collecting/educational experience" we know of." Meet the vendors when they can use your help and have time to talk about what they bring!
You should also contact Doug if you are interested in filling a Display Case at the November Scottish Rite Gem & Mineral Show; prior experience not necessary. Anne Luree and Doug will be available to help you arrange your display case, if you need them.
