Classes

Class spaces are limited and no-shows are non-refundable. If an emergency comes up, and 24 hours notice is given class can be credited back via scheduling a class at a different time. Otherwise there will be a non-refundable rescheduling fee of $10 that will need to be paid in advance. Any scheduling changes must be made no less than 1 week in advance.

Beginning Lapidary Class
Required for all new members

Available to: Members Only
Date: Sessions will be held on Saturday and Sunday from 10am-1pm, before the shop opens to the members. You will be contacted by Alyssa to schedule you when there is an instructor available. Following sessions will be scheduled after completion of first session.
Location: SMS Clubhouse @ 5467 Ballantine Street #6, Sacramento, CA 95826
Time: 10am-1pm
Cost: This class is included in the membership dues for new members.

Details: All new members are required to take our training classes in order to learn to use the basic equipment and be signed off before you can use the shop freely. Students will be shown and taught how cut and grind a cabochon from a slab of their choosing that is provided. You will have completed the class when you have completed 1 or 2 cabochons and the instructors feel that you are safe to use the equipment.

Basic cab class payments are non-refundable. However if something comes up - as long as we are given 24 hours notice - we can reschedule you at no extra cost. Any non-emergency schedule changes MUST be made at least 1 week in advance or a non-refundable $10 rescheduling charge will be applied and need to be paid in advance. Instructors are taking time out of their busy lives to help out the club and teach our new members, and their time is important!

Enrollment Deadline: Each classes requires a minimum of 3 spots to be filled by the Saturday preceding the class or the class will be canceled.

Cost: Members: $25 per oerson | Non-members: $45 per person

Details: 5 spots available per class
Students will be shown how to do basic wire wrapping techniques.
Wire will be provided.

Metal Stamping 101 with Alyssa


Hammer, metal stamps, and copper blank.

Students will create a stamped copper pendant. Materials are included.

Wire Wrapping with Bobette

Time: 6:30pm-8:30pm
Cost: Members: $35 per person | Non-members: $55 per person

Details: 4 spots available per class
Students will be shown how to wire wrap using sterling silver wire. Wire will be provided.





Copper Etching 101
