The Sacramento Mineral Society is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization dedicated to increasing interest in and knowledge of the geological sciences and the lapidary arts. We promote and organize field trips to collect specimens, study geology, and learn about minerals as they occur in nature.
If you are interested in crystals, minerals, geology sciences, lapidary arts, or just generally appreciate rocks – you are welcome to join our society!
Members volunteer their time throughout the year for various events, providing educational presentations and activities at local schools, hosting science and geology experiences in partnership with local museums, at Gem Faire, and at the Sacramento Mineral Society’s Annual Gem, Mineral, & Jewelry show.
The Sacramento Mineral Society is a member of the California Federation of Mineralogical Societies, the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies, and the Co-Op Field Trip Chairman’s Association of Northern California.
